Rostock is located in the North of Germany. As the largest city in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Rostock has its own airport (called Rostock – Laage) and is also very well connected to the public transportation network. Don’t forget your valid passport and valid visa (for non-EU citizens)!

Arriving by plane – your options:

•  Hamburg Airport (HAM) (train to Hamburg Central station, then train or bus to Rostock Hbf: 2.5 hours)

• Berlin: currently either Berlin-Tegel (TXL) (bus shuttle TXL to Berlin Hbf) or Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF) (“Airport Express” RE7 and RB14 to Berlin central station) - from Berlin central station take a train to Rostock Hbf: 3 h. • Rostock-Laage (RLG) (bus shuttle to Rostock: 30 min)
  Rostock–Laage (RLG) is served mainly by domestic airlines flying from Frankfurt Main (FRA), Munich (MUC), Stuttgart (STR) or Cologne (CGN) to Rostock. During summer several international flights are offered.

Arriving by train

Arriving by bus

Rostock is connected to the German motorway network. Europe-wide route recommendations are available in the internet. It is quite easy to reach Rostock by car, however public transport is very developed, so you don’t necessarily need a car in everyday life.
